Scottish agricultural charity RSABI will host an exclusive auction during its much-anticipated Farmers’ Choir Charity Concert at the Macdonald Aviemore Resort on Saturday 28 February 2026.
The auction will be led by 22‑year‑old auctioneer Farquhar MacRae, supported by Donald Young, and will feature a variety of prizes generously donated to support RSABI’s work across the Scottish agricultural industry.
Originally from the Black Isle and now based in Huntly, Aberdeenshire, Farquhar began his career with United Auctions – silver sponsor of the Farmers’ Choir event – when he was just 17 years old. Since then, he has chaired a variety of sales, building up his experience within the sector.
Farquhar said: “I’ve always loved auctioneering since the moment I started, and I’m looking forward to chairing an auction in support of such an important charity. Coming from a farming background myself, I know how important it is for charities like RSABI to exist in our communities and encourage people to keep talking to one another, as the industry can be quite isolating and lonely for some.
“I’m looking forward to seeing everyone’s bids and hope to see a great turnout on the night. Good luck everyone!”
Concertgoers will have the opportunity to bid on a number of exclusive prizes, including a three-night stay at Foinaven House in Ullapool, a Black Isle Show VIP Experience for two, and a four ball at Macdonald Spey Valley. Other sought-after lots include a two-night stay at The Green Cottage in Aviemore and a seven-night Highland escape at Banchor Cottage in the Findhorn Valley.
In addition to the live auction on the night, an online auction will run in the lead up to the event via Galabid, with all lots available to browse and bid on in advance, so supporters who are unable to attend in person will still have the opportunity to get involved and support RSABI. The online auction will close at 12 noon on Friday 27 February.
The auction is expected to add an extra buzz to what promises to be a lively and uplifting evening, bringing members of the farming community together through music, laughter and connection, while raising vital funds to support RSABI’s year-round work.
The event, kindly sponsored by Highland Industrial Supplies (HIS), will raise vital funds for RSABI, while also supporting the Scottish Association of Young Farmers Clubs (SAYFC), with 50% of net ticket sales going towards the Big Build – the campaign to create a new permanent centre for Scotland’s Young Farmers at the Royal Highland Showground.

The concert will be compered by Scottish comedian and Perthshire farmer Jim Smith, and will bring together over 80 choir members from across rural Scotland for an uplifting evening of community spirit and connection. The choir performance will feature a range of well-known cover songs, guaranteed to entertain and lift spirits while raising awareness of RSABI’s work to support people in Scottish agriculture.
The Farmers’ Choir Aviemore concert takes place on Saturday 28 February 2026 at the Macdonald Aviemore Resort, starting at 7:30pm.
