Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training

Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is a free two day, in-person course that provides attendees with practical skills to identify and support individuals who may be at risk of suicide. Prior to attending our ASIST training, you may wish to consider signing up for our free Mental Health First Aid Awareness Training (kindly funded by the NFU Mutual Trust)– more information on this one-day training HERE.

Josie Barclay, Suicide Prevention Lead at RSABI alongside a second qualified ASIST trainer.

Who is this for?

Anyone involved in Scottish agriculture whether through work, volunteering, or personal interest.  We’re bringing ASIST to farming communities across Scotland.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Recognise when someone may be thinking about suicide
  • Understand how personal and community attitudes affect help-seeking
  • Provide a skilled intervention and develop a safety plan
  • Build confidence and capacity to offer suicide first aid
