Counselling
Speaking with a friend, family member or an organisation like RSABI can help combat mental health issues in the short term, however professional support and guidance can help you to overcome poor mental wellbeing and deal with life’s challenges in the future.
In some situations, like bereavement, being witness to a farm accident or other trauma it may be necessary to involve a qualified counsellor as soon as possible.
RSABI can provide financial support to help with the cost of counselling sessions. We can usually fund up to 10-12 sessions with a qualified counsellor. We know that many challenges are unique to agriculture so that’s why we have partnered with counsellors that understand the sector.
In order to qualify for further support with counselling beyond the initial 10-12 sessions, a short application form needs to be completed and a case officer will guide you through this process.
You could also request access to our Thrive app. Thrive offers a range of supportive content, including resources on mindfulness, relaxation techniques and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). For those who need further support, in-app therapy is available with qualified in-house therapists available between 8am and 8pm to chat confidentially about any worries or stressors.
To request access please click here and complete the short form. We also have a short video explaining how to access our Free Counselling Support which is available to watch here.
All support is offered in confidence.
