The congregation of St Mary’s Church in Dunblane have been busy knitting hats to keep farmers warm during the winter months and raise awareness of agricultural charity, RSABI.
Each carefully-knitted, brightly-colourful hat also features RSABI’s Helpline number on the inside to remind people that support is there, particularly during the winter months when loneliness can be a real issue.
The hats will be given away to farmers attending farm business event, AgriScot, which is taking place at the Royal Highland Centre at Ingliston next Wednesday 13 November.
The church also held a Harvest Thanksgiving and appeal which raised £350 for RSABI.
Jimmy McLean, Chair of RSABI, said the charity was delighted with the heartwarming, and head-warming, efforts of the St Mary’s knitters.
“Our thanks go to each and every one of the congregation who have taken time out to knit these special hats,” said Jimmy.
“The team at RSABI are delighted with the initiative – it will really put a smile on people’s faces to see these brightly coloured hats appearing on farms around the country. Well done to all involved – we are sure farmers will wear these with pride.”
