We have decided to extend our #Challenge125 initiative until the start of December, to encourage even more people to contribute their kilometres to the ambitious overall target of achieving 125,000km.
To help celebrate RSABI’s 125th anniversary this year, we have been encouraging people in the agricultural community to get involved in their #Challenge125 initiative, sponsored by United Auctions.
The aim of the challenge is for people to have fun doing a bit of exercise – walking, cycling, running or however you like – to contribute towards an overall target of 125,000km.
Since the challenge kicked off at the Royal Highland Show in June around 29,000km has been clocked up – with United Auctions staff and customers contributing an impressive total of over 7,000km already. And momentum is picking up.
With the original finish date of 26th August not far away, RSABI have decided to extend the close of #Challenge125 so that even more people can get involved and help them reach the 125,000km target.
#Challenge125 will now run until 2nd December, when the organisation will be holding a fundraising dinner in Edinburgh as part of their anniversary celebrations.
Harry Seran, RSABI’s Digital and Finance Manager said, “We’ve had a great response to #Challenge125 with people continuing to sign up to take part. We’re very grateful to everyone who has contributed their kilometres and helped us raise such a great sum to help us support people in Scottish agriculture.
“Momentum is picking up but we’re still a way off the target, so we’ve decided to extend the closing date to our 125th Anniversary Fundraising Dinner in December.
“The totaliser is increasing all the time as more and more people take part, either by signing up online, sending in their km to us by email or using the exercise equipment made available by our sponsors United Auctions at their Stirling Agricultural Centre.
“It’s great to see so many people taking part, and we’d encourage anyone who is interested to either sign up online, or even send your kilometres in by email to rsabi@rsabi.org.uk whether from walking your dog, or doing jobs around the farm or croft.”
The fundraising goal for #Challenge125 has been exceeded thanks to everyone who has taken part so far, with over £6,000 raised and now RSABI is encouraging everyone to get behind their team for this year’s Great Glen Challenge. The Great Glen Challenge is back on Friday 26 August, with teams of four, plus a driver, walking, cycling, kayaking and running in stages from Fort Augustus to Fort William.
