Scottish Women's Land Army ladies on mini break

30 July 2007

Starting in Edinburgh this Wednesday (1st August),  the ladies will be staying at the Airport Quality Hotel and be chauffered around various places including the Falkirk Wheel and  the National Museum of Rural Life at East Kilbride, treated to morning coffee at Holyrood Palace and  visiting the Tattoo at Edinburgh Castle.

Chief executive of RSABI, Maurice Hankey, says: “We have organised all aspects of their visit including transport and meals, so they should have a wonderful time. I know they are looking forward to it. While it is not gentlemanly to mention a lady’s age, these ladies worked in the Scottish Women’s Land Army during the 2nd World War, so this is a fairly exciting event for their tender years.”
