RSABI Chief Executive, Dr Maurice Hankey, today welcomed the announcement that the charity is to receive £200k from the Scottish Government to help livestock farmers in Scotland struggling as a result of the foot and mouth crisis this summer.
“We are delighted by today’s announcement, which boosts other donations we have received. This charity really wants to help those livestock farmers most affected by recent livestock movement problems – to keep themselves and their businesses going.
“We have funds available for distribution now, and will handle all requests for help quickly and confidentially. Scottish farmers are resilient and proud, and we know many are reluctant to ask a charity for help… but we cannot help them until they make contact with us.”
