ScottishPower Energy People Trust has awarded a grant of £34,500 to RSABI to help its beneficiaries to pay their fuel bills. This support is in addition to any winter fuel payments from the Government. RSABI hopes that its Fuel Poverty Fund will be able to help around 150 households throughout Scotland and that it will not only be existing beneficiaries who will benefit from the Fund, but that new suitable recipients will also come forward for help. As always, all approaches will be dealt with in strict confidence.
RSABI welfare manager John Macfarlane says: “Each year RSABI gives financial help and other support to nearly 600 people who have worked in agriculture, forestry and other rural land-based jobs and who are struggling to cope on low incomes. As a charity, we rely on donations to continue our work and assist more people. The support from the ScottishPower Energy People Trust will really help to ease the burden of fuel bills”.
